Ne w Faci l i t ies and Serv ices gleaming new heart A Destination of Care A 6 | Peak Living Memorial Hospital North offers state-of-the-art technology and treatments for all of Colorado Springs, but especially northern El Paso and southern Douglas counties catheterization lab, located only 100 feet from the emergency department at UCHealth Memorial Hospital North, delights Dr. David Rosenbaum, a Memorial cardiologist. “For cardiac patients, time is muscle. It brings cardiac care closer to home for people who live in northern El Paso County and southern Douglas County,” says Rosenbaum. “We have the best imaging equipment in southern Colorado, and we can handle basically any cardiac emergency 24 hours a day, seven days a week.” Enhancing Cardiac Care Rosenbaum and two other Memorial physicians, Drs. Jorge Davalos and Russell Linsky, see patients in their clinic on the campus of Memorial Hospital North during the week. When a patient has a cardiac emergency, the heart specialists are only a short, brisk walk from the doors of the heart catheterization lab. Memorial has pacemaker and defibrillator clinics on the north campus as well as nuclear medicine stress testing, cardiovascular ultrasound imaging and Holter monitoring capabilities. Additionally, in the near future, Memorial will do electrophysiology and ablations at Memorial North. “We can do everything here that we can do at Memorial Hospital Central, with the exception of open-heart surgery,” says Rosenbaum. Memorial’s clinicians have an impressive track record for treating cardiac patients as quickly as possible. Memorial Hospital Central’s current average door-to-balloon time is 47 minutes, far below the goal of 90 minutes and well under the national average of 59 minutes.
